The Importance of a Proper Mattress for Your Wall Bed

Each mattress available on the market has different components and purposes. Of course, it's made for sleeping! But beyond that... Some more "conventional" mattresses may fit in our wall beds. However, you must carefully consider the following points:

Mattress Thickness (Dimensions)
If the thickness is not correct, the mattress may create resistance when closing the wall bed. It's important to remember that a certain thickness must be maintained so that your wall bed closes properly, and also to ensure the bedding can stay on the mattress without interfering with the bed's closure. Our mattresses come in standard dimensions, which are classic sizes for each type of bed. If you need a custom-sized wall bed, we can also create a custom-sized mattress to match, ensuring the same quality as our standard-size projects. The thickness will still be respected, and the bed will function exactly the same.

Mattress Weight
The mattress weight must match the capacity of the mechanisms we use for your wall bed. If the mattress is too heavy, unfortunately, you won’t benefit from all the great features of the bed’s mechanisms (like what you experience during your visit to our showrooms)! Your wall bed may feel heavy to lower and lift. Even if the mechanisms seem sufficient at first, they won’t have the same incredible durability as with a mattress of optimal weight.

Internal Construction and Materials
Remember, in all our wall beds, the mattresses will spend a lot of time in a vertical position (since wall beds are meant to be closed when not in use). If your mattress is not designed for this type of model/position, the internal filling and construction may shift downward, sag, or deform in the center. Our mattresses are made with a 2-inch layer of antibacterial hybrid memory foam with a 3 lb density, and a block of high-density polyurethane foam with 1.8 lb density, making our mattresses ultra-light. The mattress is covered with a beautiful iMural light and comfortable cover.
